Welcome to Owl Cove! Open floor plan excellent for gathering with friends and family. Flat Screen TV's in Living Room and guest bedroom with pullout couch.Long Range Mountain views!Very comfortable layout with an open kitchen, living and dining area all with those monster views. Well equipped kitchen keurig coffee maker and drip coffee maker, toaster, blender, pots pans, dishes and misc bake ware, standard microwave, dishwasher fridge and electric range and oven. . Outside small propane grill and a charcoal grill. You will feel right at home in this gem. House has portable Mifi device for internet if you need to work from the area I would recommend a stronger internet connection by going to the clubhouse..Sleeps 6 and guests are welcome to bring fur babies for a fee of $50 per pup. With 7 miles of trails, community campground, three ponds, and located on a state stocked trout stream, (Elk Creek) you have found the mecca for the outdoor enthusiast. This is the perfect four season cabin getaway, with the Appalachian Mountaineers football, skiing,snowboarding, or tubing at any one of our many ski resorts like Beech Mountain or Sugar mountain, festivals and outdoor concerts at the Jones House on King Street in downtown Boone, and eye catching leaf tours and winery visits in the fall.... Merlefest is just a 30 minute drive from Powder Horn which also makes this a perfect place to rest your head for events from North Wilkesboro to Banner Elk! Stroll Main Street in Blowing Rock full of art galleries, boutiques, local artisans, ice cream shops, and the perfect mix of restaurants and atmospheres for every one. Make sure you check out one of our many local kayaking/float adventures while you are here.... River Girl Fishing Company or WAHOO's Adventures to name a couple we like. There is a ton of wildlife by the house from deer to palliated woodpeckers, open the windows at night to hear the coyotes howl at the moon!!! All Linens are provided including sheets and towels. Main floor has three bedrooms with queen beds and two of them share a bath which is is a tub shower combo. Master bath with linen closet and view .. is also a tub shower combo. The washer and dryer are in a closet in the 2nd guest bedroom. Guests are welcome to use them. Wood burning fireplace. Games and a collection of movies provided. Best cell service is through Verizon. Renters have full access to the fitness center, (check for covid restrictions before booking) community pool (during season), hiking trails, tennis court, fishing in the lakes, chapel services on Sunday, playground, and even the paddleboats during the summer. This is such a perfect escape for everyone! Parking is limited at this house so renters are approved to park and unload and then any vehicles that do not fit in parking area will need to park at the auxilary lot across the street from the clubhouse next to the silt pond.   Nice secluded cabin in the mountains. 30 minutes from Boone. Great views from balcony. Bring your food supplies to cabin as it’s a drive to local Food Lion. Great area for hiking.

  We had an amazing time at Owl Cove. Both cars fit in the gravel parking spot in front of the house. Check in was easy with the key pad to retrieve the key. Everything was clean and inviting. Our host was easy to reach and was quick to bring us a kitchen sponge and bath mats for the bathrooms. That’s all we needed! The community there is fabulous! The roads to walk on, the trails, the club house amenities...all of it will have us going back soon!

  This is a very cool mountain house/cabin and great for a family of 4 or 5. As others have said this cabin is in a remote location with limited internet and tv (antenna). Just be prepared for that. Lots of games to play and excellent DVD selection. We enjoyed spending time with each other playing games and watching movies. There is also great neighborhood trails we loved to explore. Check out the one just down the road with the cave and still. It was awesome. We loved this place and will certainly be back in the future.

  Owl Cove is beautiful, our stay was fun and extremely comfortable. Communication with the manager was great, she was extremely helpful. We loved the details of the house, like the cool lanterns and the overall comfort level is so high. We enjoyed the fireplace, rocker, deck, full kitchen, games, dvds, YouTube, and the quiet solitude. It helped all of us relax and get a break from the stresses of life. My T mobile phone worked perfectly.

  Where do I begin? We planned this trip because my children had never seen snow. We found the cabin online and booked it not expecting it to be as good as the pictures. It absolutely was. Let me also say that Susan the property manager is sweet and extremely helpful. The weather was not great for our trip, but that didn’t matter. Our kids did snow tubing and sledding. Boone is awesome, the cabin was awesome.
  
  I recommend you know what you are planning before you go. You are going to an isolated mountain cabin at a high elevation in the middle of nowhere. So expect the occasional bug, and expect tough driving conditions. If you are realistic and can handle those two things, you will LOVE your trip. This is a place you visit with a certain experience in mind.
  
  Honestly I cannot recommend this place enough. We will be back, both summer and winter seasons so we can enjoy all activities, and we will want this same cabin again.

  The good: The house was clean. Views were beautiful. Kitchen and linens stocked. Secluded location. Quiet. Large selection of DVD’s. Allowed pets (though charge less quite a bit extra for bringing our three small chihuahuas.
  
  The not so good: Stinkbugs everywhere! And apparently a mouse issue we only found out about just before arrival. The fold down bed linens appeared to have been used; that bed was slept on only once by me, as our son refused to even co sided it. The master bed was too small for three so I attempted to sleep on top of the covers on the fold down bed. I say attempted because the small bedroom I shared a wall with had a headboard that was not attached; every time our daughter moved, it banged against the wall, causing a terrible racket that disrupted my sleep. No cable. Spotty wifi.
  
  The bad: Hour away from pretty much everything. A snowstorm came in early and we were left with either being snowed in or attempting to leave. We loaded the car up at 11 pm and faced miles of treacherous mountain roads. At one point, we got stuck due to road conditions and were feet from sliding off the mountainside.

  We had a great time dining in and visiting area attractions. This place is in a quiet neighborhood with nearby trails and an awesome play area and lake. It was about an hour to get to the Alpine Coaster and Hawks Nest tubing but a beautiful drive! The house was very homey, super warm, and a pleasure to stay in. I loved how clean it was!

  HAD A GREAT EXPIERENCE BESIDES THE INFESTATION OF STINK BUGS AND LADY BUGS. PEST DROPPINGS UNDER CABINETS WHERE POTS WERE WAS A TURN OFF. PLACE NEEDS PEST CONTROL AND A DEEP CLEANING, OTHER THAN THAT PLACE WAS ENJOYABLE.
