Eagle Point is a charming and private half-duplex cabin located in the very quiet, gated community of Powder Horn Mountain. This cozy retreat is ideal for a small group or couple’s getaway, offering incredible mountain views from every level, a wrap-around deck, and easy entry with just one to two steps into the main level.

The cabin comfortably sleeps four guests. The main level features a king bedroom with an ensuite full bathroom, along with the kitchen, living room, and dining area. The upper level includes a small loft and a bedroom with two twin beds and a full ensuite bathroom. The layout provides both comfort and privacy while maintaining an open, welcoming feel.

The full kitchen is well stocked for preparing meals and includes a Keurig and drip coffee maker, pots and pans, knives, crockpot, mixer, and other essential kitchen items. All linens are provided for guest convenience.

Outdoor living is a highlight at Eagle Point. Guests can enjoy the wrap-around deck, propane grill, and sweeping views that make this cabin feel like a true mountain escape. The wood-burning fireplace adds to the cozy atmosphere; guests should bring their own firewood.

The cabin is pet friendly. Dogs are welcome with a limit of two. A fee of $50 per pet applies and is charged separately after booking. Please note pets when making your reservation.

Eagle Point offers fiber optic internet, making it easy to stream your favorite shows and movies. Cell service is generally reliable, especially for Verizon users, and Wi-Fi calling is available. Laundry facilities are located on the lower level of the house and are accessed from outside the main living area.

Location

Eagle Point is located in Deep Gap, NC within the Powder Horn Mountain community. The setting is peaceful and rural, yet within approximately 25 minutes of Appalachian State University and downtown Boone. Blowing Rock and Banner Elk are each about 35–40 minutes away. Area ski resorts are approximately 18–25 miles from the property. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 9 miles away. Guests are also within easy driving distance of West Jefferson, High Country festivals, fly fishing, wineries, breweries, shopping, and local restaurants.

Community Information

Powder Horn Mountain is a private gated community. Guests have free access to the seasonal community pool, typically open from late May through early September. Additional amenities include a fitness center and game room—both in the clubhouse, a playground, paddle boats, a tennis and pickleball court, a basketball goal, a disc golf course, and fishing in three community ponds or in Laurel Creek or Elk Creek. Fishing in either creek requires a valid North Carolina Fishing License. The community also offers miles of well-marked hiking trails, as well as a campground along Laurel Creek that is ideal for an evening fire, s’mores, or a game of horseshoes.

From winter sports to summer outdoor adventures, shopping and exploring local galleries and cuisine, spa days and golf adventures, this area offers something for everyone. Guests enjoy easy access to App State football games, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Appalachian Trail, local wineries and breweries, and the many seasonal events throughout the High Country.

  This was our first trip to the community. We really enjoyed our stay. The unit was clean, did have a "musty" smell that seemed to get better with the use of box fans we brought. Communication was always good! We enjoyed walking the trails. Not a lot in the area for restuarants or stores, so as they mention pick up groceries before you get there. Boone is about 30 moms away. Also depending on which way you come in, part of the road is unsaved. The pool area was very clean, we really enjoyed our stay!
