Twin Creeks Cabin - When you think of the quintessential riverfront cabin in the mountains.... this is EXACTLY what you were hoping to find. Previously known as the Elk Creek Hideaway, the newly updated Twin Creeks offers private, absolute river frontage at the convergence of two state-stocked trout streams. Spend your days relaxing on the porch listening to the rushing sounds of the stream and your nights in the hot tub under the stars! You’ll never want to leave!

Twin Creeks Cabin sleeps 7 in two separate units; the main cabin has a queen bedroom, pull-out sofa, living room with propane fireplace, fully stocked kitchen (no dishwasher), dining room, commercial laundry unit, and full bath with stand-up shower. The second cabin is connected by a brand new deck and offers a queen bed in the main room and a separate room with bunk beds for three (twin over queen). A full bath off the bunk room also has a stand-up shower. Both cabins offer extensive decking overlooking the stream, A/C & heat, instant hot water heaters, and Dish TV is provided through a fire stick linked to the adjacent private residence. NEW high-speed, fiber optic internet summer 2024! The property is pet friendly for dogs, only. A $50 per pet will be charged after you book. MAX of 2 dogs only. A $150 charge will be levied if pets are not disclosed before stay.


Twin Creeks is located about 9 miles down Elk Creek Rd. It is a typical, windy mountain road with gravel in some areas. NO steep grades on either side and parking is flat so 4-wheel drive is not required. Boone is an easy 20 minute drive and you can hop on the Blueridge Parkway and be in Blowing Rock in approximately 30 minutes. The nearest grocery store is ten miles away so stop on the way in for groceries or use the offered grocery delivery service. Besides fishing & relaxing on the porch or along the stream, you have hiking trails nearby and Lil Hidden Creek Gem Mine just a quarter-mile away. There is horseback riding five minutes away in Leatherwood and four ski areas within a 45-minute drive. Bring your fishing poles, inner tubes, food/beverages, and outdoor games and watch all your stress and worry melt away at Twin Creeks Cabin! Every season offers a unique experience that is sure to lower your blood pressure and make you forget all the pressures of the outside world. Come get disconnected for a while and renew your spirit!


Linens and towels are provided. One roll of paper towels in the kitchen and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom will be in place when you arrive to get your visit started. NO GLASS ALLOWED BY THE RIVER. A $250 fine will be assessed for violation of this and/or littering. If you see trash pick it up and, of course, clean after your pets! Per the mountains, there is no customary trash pick-up at this house so you will be responsible for taking all your trash to the recycle center on Elk Creek Road at Jakes Mountain Rd. It is open M.W.F, S., and hours are posted in the Cabin Manual. If you are unable to transport your trash, two bags secured in the exterior bins are included in your stay. Excess trash will incur an additional fee for removal. Bundles of wood are available to purchase with advance notice $10 per bundle.

  Two adult couples were looking for a place to just get away and relax for a long weekend. Being able to bring our dogs is very important for us. This was the perfect spot! The cabin was clean and comfortable. The internet worked pretty well for being in the mountains. We usually go out to eat at least one night. It was so perfect we never left the cabin. We moved from the hammock to the deck chairs to the fire pit and that was it. Susan is super great to work with. The checkout list is very short. I just booked another stay for the fall!

  The property was more beautiful than the pictures portray and the cabins were very nice! Although it is advertised as available, do not count on Wi-Fi- we could barely get on the internet - The TV uses internet also, so we could not watch it other than DVDs - Disappointing, because two of us brought laptops to do some work for our jobs and couldn't. We did call ( it is difficult to make phone calls also ) and were told someone would fix it, but no one came. It's about a 20 minute drive to the top of the mountain for groceries so be prepared for that! Beautiful and peaceful location.

  Cute little cabin in a beautiful spot with the creek right in the backyard. Only complaint is that although they advertised wifi, the internet connection was extremely slow and unreliable and there is no cell service. Not a huge problem for us on this trip, but if you need any connectivity for remote work, planning the rest of your trip, etc., you will have issues. I would encourage the owner/manager to improve the connection.

  Stayed here just 2 nights, wish we could have stayed longer. The creek is dreamy and so family friendly, especially for kids ages 6+. The cabins are cozy and comfortable, everything you need is at your finger tips. Beds were great, soft linens, could use a few extra throw blankets but not a big deal. PRO-TIP: hit the check in link before you turn on to Elk Creek Rd, you will lose cell service completely and end up back on the road searching for it lol!   What a blessing this little spot is! To have a creekside stay is the bees knees, but the seclusion this place provides will keep us coming back! It was the perfect location for our down time! We saw blue herons, chipmunks, deer, a large variety of birds including hummingbirds, cardinals, wrens and king fishers, and aquatic animals like crawdads and fish. Add to it the soothing sounds of Elk Creek and happy swimming dogs, and I’m one happy woman!

  It's been so long since I've totally "unplugged" and let me tell you, when you are ready you need to take a short trip to Deep Gap and stay at Twin Creeks Cabin! Susan, you outdid yourself from the enormous basket of thoughtful goodies for my whole crew, to the beautiful flowers carefully placed everywhere! You thought of everything! Camp chairs w/personal coolers, sparklers, snacks for Coop, flashlights, bug spray, river tubes and some very special personal beverages. Twin Creeks Cabin is the perfect place to escape and enjoy sitting in the twin creeks, cook out, fish, relax in the hot tub and just be lazy and free!
